I'm getting really tired of this kickstarter thing. Sure when it is an Indie company then I'm all for it...but it is starting to become a way for anyone to fund any of the games that they don't deem "mainstream" enough to make it with normal development. Sometimes it just feels like a guilt trip with them just picking on us fans....."If you really loved the series you'll support this next project....." Jeez don't you have enough of our money? Hell fan clammering for a next game should be enough to produce something....without begging.
I first started to hate it with the Ouya system. In case you aren't familar with it here is their kickstarter page.

It is basically just a small form gaming PC with their own OS GUI just so you can play all the free MMO and other trail crap that you can play on steam (which by the way is coming out with it's own system....so take that Ouya). But they aren't the only ones. The latest way to milk gamers is by making them pay for something out of guilt. Take the newest game in the Dreamfall series.....if a game really isn't popular enough to make the next title in the series without playing on nostalgia and retro guilt, then we really need to ask ourselves if we should just give up on it.  Yeah I know this is a bit hypocritical for me to say as I am a huge retro fan and have purchased many remakes of games. And yes I am still crying for a new Lunar, Breath of Fire, ect..but I want those to be done right...not by indie style development or by making me feel guilty.
